Dr. Joseph D. Brown, CFP®, MQFP®, is a dedicated financial planner and founder of Always Ready Financial Planning LLC, specializing in personalized financial services for military personnel, veterans, and their families. With a particular focus on college planning and maximizing veterans’ benefits for education, he offers tailored strategies to promote long-term financial well-being.
Drawing from 25 years of service as a US Coast Guard officer, Dr. Brown brings a deep understanding of the unique financial challenges faced by the military community. His military career included key leadership roles and participation in significant operations such as OPERATION DEEP FREEZE and the Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill response.
Dr. Brown holds a Master’s in Financial Planning and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional as well as a Military Qualified Financial Planner™. He is also a visiting professor of personal finance at the US Coast Guard Academy, where he educates future officers on financial matters.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Brown resides in Westerly, RI, with his wife, Melissa, and their three children. He is passionate about ocean activities, woodworking, and golf.
